Vinylsport is a multi-use point elastic cushioned vinyl sports surface which is both economical and hard wearing and can be laid permanently onto most hard, level and smooth substrates (with a DPM) and completed with painted on court markings for indoor sports activities.
It is also used in our portable roll up/down "Portacourt" applications for Badminton and Volleyball. Vinylsport can also be laid on a sprung base to provide an excellent multilastic sports surface.
Vinylsport is constructed with a grained polyurethane coated vinyl wear surface for good grip and a reinforced dense PVC and vinyl underlay with a PVC foam backing for excellent comfort underfoot. The special fibreglass within the structure ensures a high level of dimensional stability. Ongoing maintenance costs are minimal and the surface is easily cleaned with a wet mop and mild detergent.
Vinylsport provides realistic ball bounce characteristics, good sound and shock absorbtion, good grip with its embossed finish, is easy to clean, is available in several colours and is suitable for a wide range of sports and recreational uses.
Specification and site requirements
- Vinylsport is supplied with a thickness of 6.5mm, 4mm and 2.5mm, and in 20m rolls 1.5m wide
- 6mm thick surface weighs 3.95kg/m2, 4mm thick surface weighs 2.65kg/m2, 2.5mm thick surface weighs 1.85kg/m2
- Surface hardness is Shore A, 80+/-5
- Finished height above screed is 6.5/4/2mm (this can be increased if laid on a batten system but not reduced)
- Concrete subfloor needs to be level to a tolerance of +/-2mm over 2m and with a finish equivalent to that produced by a wood float
- Moisture content of floor not greater than 5% (Protimeter) or 75% (Hygrometer)
- A DPM is required for ground floor installations
- Complies with BS7044
